1.If you were famous what would your stage name be?
I am a mother to six children, four of which are teenagers. I know that they are watching what I do, listening to what I say, and following the example I set. I lead—and teach—my children by example. I expect my children to grow daily, to move “Onward and Upward.” I cannot expect them to do what I will not, so I am driven to work harder and improve myself every day.
2.If you would attend a celebrity wedding which, would it be?
I have made a point of raising an active, adventurous family, so spending a day enjoying the beauty of nature, disconnecting from electronics and outside distractions, and crossing another item off our bucket lists would be an ideal day for me. We like to challenge one another, so supporting each other in tackling new—even frightening—experiences would be incredibly fulfilling for me and my whole family.
3.What is the weirdest gift you’ve ever received?
I never fail to find an opportunity to teach my children—much to their chagrin. Whenever I find an opportunity to teach a lesson, whether about science, nature, communication, or even proper cleaning techniques, I take ahold of it with both hands and a bullhorn! Because I am raising my children to be the leaders of tomorrow, I know every lesson I teach will make a bigger difference than I can possibly fathom.
4.What is the most random fact you know?
I do not to put much stock in objects. I have moved so many times in my life—and lost so many material things along the way—that I have learned to treasure memories and people, not objects. The one item I do treasure is my WillowTree nativity set. I have had it for 16 years and I enjoy setting it up every Christmas. It reminds me of the greatest gift ever given: Redemption.
